TRIP
TO NP PAKLENICA
The area between the highest peak of Velebit
(Vaganski Vrh 1757 m) and the sea was proclaimed a National Park
in 1949. It differs from others mostly due to its unique Velika
and Mala Paklenica canyons, which on their route to the sea form
numerous small waterfalls from cliff faces as high as 400 metres,
the most famous of which is Anica kuk.
Paklenica is a real challenge to mountaineers, alpine climbers
and scientists. It is a favourite destination for nature lovers
and picnickers. The rich flora and fauna (many endemic types,
the nesting grounds of the Griffon vulture in the continental
part of Croatia, etc.) many outstanding karst phenomenon in the
Manita Cave and a variety of sporting activities (alpine climbing,
hiking, trekking, bird-watching, etc.) attract increasing numbers
of more visitors.
It is especially important to stress the vicinity of the sea,
which allows visitors to both bathe and partake of mountaineering
activities all on the same day.
We offer Mountaineering, trekking tours, alpinism,
picnic in the cottage, free climbing, bird watching, sightseeing
of "Manita pec" cave, tour of the old Paklenica mill,
visit to subterranean tunnels "the bunkers", etc.
